What can I eat and drink?
For all procedures under anesthesia it is required that you fast (nothing to eat) for 6-8 hours before the time of the procedure. Clear liquids like water, apple juice, gatorade ( a liquid which you can see through clearly) are allowed in minimal amounts up to 4 hours before a procedure. Liquids such as milk and orange juice for example are NOT clear liquids and are not to be consumed at least 6-8 hours before a procedure.
Can I take medications the day of the procedure?
Yes, certain medications can be taken either dry or with a small sip of WATER enough to swallow the medication.
